‘Persephone/Kore (Περσεφόνη/ Κόρη) is a goddess, Demeter's daughter by Zeus, wife of Hades, and Queen of the Underworld.  She captivates the imagination with her dual nature as both a goddess of life and death. While spending time in the realm of Hades, Persephone symbolizes the cycle of nature - her descent into the underworld representing the barrenness of winter, and her return signaling the rebirth of spring. As the Queen of the Underworld, she holds great power and wisdom, guiding souls on their journey to the afterlife. Persephone's story embodies themes of transformation, resilience, and the interconnectedness of life and death, reminding us that even in the darkest times, there is always the potential for renewal and growth. The pomegranate, with its vibrant red seeds, became a powerful symbol of Persephone's ties to both life and death. In rituals and offerings, devotees of Persephone would often include pomegranates as a sacred offering.

Her life-giving abilities allowed her to become goddess of necromancy and ghosts, summoning and communing with the dead. She was also employed within the Underworld to facilitate a painless, peaceful death to those who deserved it, and initiate the safe passage towards a blessed afterlife.’

Wooden Wick 

Burn Instructions:

Every candle comes with a candle care & burn instructions.

Instructions/caution:
Trim the wick to ¼ inch each time before burning. Long or crooked wicks can cause uneven burning or flaring.
Place the candle on a stable, heat-resistant surface. This will also help prevent possible heat damage to counters and table surfaces and prevent glass containers from cracking or breaking.
Keep the wax pool clear of wick trimmings, matches and debris at all times.
Avoid drafts, vents or air currents. This will help prevent rapid or uneven burning, sooting, and excessive dripping.

Please Note: Wooden Wick burn time is different than cotton wick. Burn for 1 hour each time you light the candle. This will help the candle burn evenly, and remember to trim wicks before each burn.

Never touch or move a burning candle. Never move a container candle when the wax is liquified.
Don’t burn a candle all the way down. For a margin of safety, discontinue burning a candle when there is 1/4" inch of wax left in the container.
Place burning candles at least three inches apart from one another. This is to make sure they don’t melt one another, or create their own drafts that will cause the candles to burn improperly.
Extinguish a candle if the flame becomes too high or flickers repeatedly. Let the candle cool, trim the wick, and check for unwanted drafts before re-lighting.
Always keep the candle within your sight. If you are going to leave the room, be sure to first blow out all candles.
