The As Above, So Below Candle explores the relationship between the celestial and terrestrial—the ancient principle that patterns found in the greater universe are reflected within the individual.

At its center stands the Tree, its branches reaching toward the heavens while its roots descend deeply into the earth. Wrapped around its trunk, the serpent represents transformation, cyclical renewal, knowledge, and the continual unfolding of consciousness. Together, tree and serpent form an axis between what is above and what is below.

The Sun and Moon preside over the composition as complementary forces: illumination and mystery, activity and contemplation, the revealed and the concealed. The progression of lunar phases further represents cycles of becoming—reminding us that illumination is not a single moment, but a process.

The surrounding pillars and sacred geometry introduce themes familiar to Masonic and Western esoteric traditions: structure, proportion, order, and the disciplined pursuit of understanding.

At the roots appear Alpha and Omega, symbolizing beginning and completion, while the inscription declares:

“As Above, So Below — Through Knowledge, Light Endures.”

The message of this candle is ultimately one of correspondence. The temple being constructed is not only external. The same principles of order, measurement, balance, and harmony must also be discovered and cultivated within oneself.
